The Management Board of URSUS S.A. hereby informs that the Issuer on the 6th May 2014 concluded with the Municipal Transport Company of Lublin and Lublin University of Technology the agreement Consortium – Electric Bus URSUS.
On the basis of the concluded agreement the parties of the agreement will cooperate in designing and research related to electric Urban bus adjusted to the needs of Lublin city, with possibility of offering it to municipal transport companies in Poland and abroad, and with use of the potential of the Consortium members, in establishing in Lublin a production and research facilities for electric buses. The company URSUS S.A. became leader of the Consortium. The agreement was signed during a ceremonial press conference, among numerous guests there were also the President and the Deputy President of Lublin City.
According to the assumptions of the consortium partners, in the first stage of implementation of the agreement the consortium will produce, among others, 12-meter long low-floor electric bus, which with charged battery can travel at least 200 km. Such a bus will be equipped with many innovative solutions, like placing batteries on the sides of the vehicle, at the level of the floor. Such a solution will allow a quick and smooth replacement of batteries. The propulsion engines with a power of 150 kW will be placed in the wheel hubs of the rear axles and will be driven with lithium-ion batteries of minimum power capacity 200 kWh. Their durability is calculated to be at least 6 years. The bus designed by the Consortium – Electric Bus URSUS will be able to take even 70 passengers, there will be 23 seating places. Besides, this bus will have air-conditioned area both for passengers and driver and it will be able to charge quickly its battery at the end stop - in 15 minutes.
Conclusion of the agreement Consortium - Electric Bus URSUS and extension of the range of products offered by the Issuer is a part of the strategy policy of the Management Board of the Company and is the Company’s response to the needs of the domestic market for innovative and ecological products.
The legal basis of transmission of this report is the art. 56 sec. 1 point 1 Act on Public Offering, Conditions Governing the Introduction of Financial Instruments to Organized Trading, and Public Companies of the 29th July 2005 (of the 28th June 2013, Journal of. Laws of 2013, No. 1382 with subsequent changes).
